About Us

Sam Huff and Carol Holden began Trackside in 1988. The shows were done from WXVA in Charles Town, WV and WQRA in Warrenton, VA before founding Middleburg Broadcasting Network in 1995.
Trackside covers local, national and international racing. Carol and Sam do on location reporting from local point-to-points in Virginia to the Dubai World Cup, with stops at The Curragh and Newmarket for coverage of U.K. races.
Guests include local horsemen, veterinarians and racing personalities as well as such national and international guests as Carl Nafzger, Todd Pletcher, Allen Jerkens, Edgar Prado, John Velazquez, Ian Balding and Aidan O'Brien.
As active owners and breeders Sam and Carol can offer insight to the highs and lows of racing, having bred and raced multiple Graded Stakes winning filly Bursting Forth, as well as having sold eventual Eclipse Award winning filly Saratoga Dew!
Trackside covers the people, issues and events which make thoroughbred racing the number one sport. Of course, Sam has to compare racing to fooball, but beyond that - its all about the horse.
